Chloe is a writer, storyteller, and director based in Melbourne, Australia. Originally from New Zealand, Chloe acknowledges her culture and background as a child of first-generation migrants with her Chinese name — Tsu Mei.
She is passionate about making female-centric storytelling a norm, rather than a quota. To have women telling their own narratives, producing their own agency, directing their own stories. She is particularly passionate about the authentic portrayal of sexual identity and ethnic diversity in any form of media.
With a background in Pharmacy, Chloe is now completing the Advanced Diploma of Screenwriting at RMIT. Also in the works is short film Secret Gaygent, a proof-of-concept comedy which she wrote and directed.
Her writing has been published in Overland and Visible Ink. Most recently, she participated in Story Lab, a Film Vic initiative run by CineSpace, whose remit is developing strong, relatable stories with a focus on diversity.
